In addition to financial support, it influences capacity building for better management of public investments by engaging its world-renowned experts who provide technical expertise to the ministry and local authorities. Furthermore, the World Bank monitors the implementation of the Project to ensure that the goals are achieved and the results are adequately evaluated, which contributes to the long-term sustainability and development of local communities.

Focusing on sustainable development, within the framework of the LIID Project, AFD helps implement solutions that are environmentally responsible, socially inclusive and economically sustainable, in accordance with the goals of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
