3.2 million euros for the realization of the LIID project in Leskovac

As part of the local infrastructure development and institutional strengthening of local self-governments project (LIID project), implemented by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, the French Development Agency and the World Bank, 3.2 million euros have been allocated to the city of Leskovac.

Leskovac is one of 145 units of local self-governments that will receive non-refundable funds for the implementation of projects in the areas of rehabilitation and reconstruction of existing traffic infrastructure, construction of new sand crossings, bicycle paths or areas for public transport, greening and solving problems of pollution and e-mobility.

Representatives of JUP LIID met with representatives of the city of Leskovac headed by the president Dr. Sci. Med. Goran Cvetanović and on that occasion presented the importance of the project and the procedures that follow the implementation of the project, while the representatives of the city of Leskovac presented their ideas.

The total value of the LIID project is 265.2 million euros, and 145 local self-government units will receive funds in the form of a grant that they will be able to use for projects of rehabilitation and reconstruction of traffic infrastructure, construction of pedestrian crossings, bicycle paths or spaces for public transport, increasing the resistance of traffic infrastructure to climate change, greening of public areas, development of smart city systems and sustainable urban mobility, preparation of planning documents and development of institutional and personnel capacities of local self-government units.

The implementation of the project will last until November 30, 2028.
